Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite Hosts Third Annual Yosemite Wellness & Spa Retreat

Third time's a charm for this top-rated wellness getaway, now featuring enhanced attendee options, brand new Ascent Spa treatments, a high-end whiskey pairing dinner and more

Holiday treats and fireside hibernation are all well and good, but for many, deliciously lazy winter habits start to lose their luster once the calendar flips from 2015 to 2016. Luckily, Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite makes resetting habits simple, luxurious and fun with its third annual Yosemite Wellness & Spa Retreat. From Jan. 15-18, 2016, attendees of this full-spectrum escape will have the opportunity to relax, refresh and set healthy intentions, all with the guidance of leading experts in the fitness, lifestyle and culinary space.

“This year’s retreat will draw upon many well-received aspects of our past two events, and will also introduce some new and fresh activities,” says Heidi Clark, spa director at Tenaya’s Ascent Spa. “Attendees will have the opportunity to experience our all-new service menu at Ascent, as well as their choice of hikes, educational sessions and an amazing whiskey pairing dinner our Sous Chef, Sheamus O’Rork, designed per guest request. We are also excited to welcome Every Day with Rachael Ray’s Abbie Kozolchyk as our keynote speaker!”

After arriving at leisure on Friday afternoon, guests can mix and mingle at a welcome reception, then tuck into bed to prepare for the weekend ahead. Beginning on Saturday morning, attendees will be treated to a comprehensive itinerary including yoga classes, educational workshops and workouts with fitness pros and sisters Alexandra Williams, MA and Kymberly Williams-Evans, MA of Fun and Fit, choice of nature hikes designed to address a variety of skill levels and plenty of quality time in the 10,000 square foot, Double Silver LEED-certified Ascent Spa. Abbie Kozolchyk, beauty and travel editor at Every Day with Rachael Ray and an expert at finding wellness wherever she roams, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.

Dinner will be an affair to remember on both nights of the retreat. Chef Sheamus will team up with seasoned spirits pros to lead guests through a highly requested whiskey pairing meal, featuring five delicious courses highlighting good-for-you ingredients, local flavors and, of course, a selection of high-end 10, 12 and 15-year whiskeys from all over the world. Attendees will also be a part of an interactive pasta making class, where participants will learn to make their own noodles while helping Chef Sheamus prep for an indulgent, handcrafted dinner. After toasting and eating their (healthy) fill on Sunday evening, guests will enjoy one more night of restful sleep and have the chance to take a breathtaking waterfall hike before a 2 p.m. checkout the following day.

Relaxation seekers can get the full retreat experience with a three-night retreat package, starting at just $349 per night for single occupancy and $449 per night for double occupancy.
